2021
We've been enabling small businesses for half a decade.
how we work
From first conversation to live site.
Every project is different, but our process is consistent: clear communication, no surprises, and a result you’re proud to show off.
Discovery call
We start with an informal conversation — no forms to fill in, no pressure. We’ll ask about your business, your customers, what you like (and don’t like) about websites you’ve seen, and what success looks like to you. This typically takes about 30 minutes.
Proposal & quote
Based on what we've discussed, we'll put together a clear written proposal outlining scope, timeline and cost - broken down so you know exactly what you're paying for. No hidden fees, no hourly rate surprises.
Design
We'll create initial design concepts for your review. You'll see how your side will look and feel before a single line of production code is written. We iterate until you're happy - typically one or two rounds of revisions.
Build
Once the design is approved, we build your site. Depending on the platform and complexity, this usually takes two to four weeks. You'll have access to a staging environment throughout so you can follow progress in real time.
Review & launch
Before going live, we'll run through the site together - checking every page, form and link. Once you're satisfied, we'll handle the domain configuration and launch. Most launches complete within a few hours, with no downtime for existing sites.
Ongoing support
We don't disappear after launch. We're available for updates, changes and questions - and we proactively monitor your site and hosting so that issues are caught before they become problems.

common questions
Frequently asked questions.
How long does a new website take?
Most straightforward websites — a five-to-ten-page brochure site — take three to five weeks from design sign-off to launch. Larger projects with custom functionality will take longer, and we’ll give you a specific timeline in your proposal. The biggest variable is usually how quickly feedback and content come back to us.
Do I need to provide my own content and images?
'You’ll usually need to provide the core content — your text, logo, and any brand-specific photography. We can advise on what’s needed and help you structure it, and we have access to high-quality stock photography for use where original images aren’t available.
Can I update the website myself once it's live?
Yes — all our sites are built with a content management system that lets you update text, images, and pages without any technical knowledge. We’ll walk you through how it works before handover. If you’d prefer us to handle ongoing changes, we offer a maintenance service for that too.
What happens if something goes wrong after launch?
We monitor all hosted sites and respond quickly to any issues. If a problem is related to our hosting or a bug in our code, we’ll fix it at no charge. For sites on our managed hosting plans, you also have access to daily backups so we can restore a previous version if something goes wrong on your end.
Do you work with businesses outside of York?
Absolutely. Most of our process happens remotely — video calls, email, and shared staging environments mean geography rarely matters. We have clients across the UK and are happy to work with businesses anywhere.
I already have a website. Can you take it over?
Yes, and it’s something we do regularly. We can migrate your existing site to our hosting, take over ongoing management, or redesign it from scratch — whatever makes sense. Migration is included with any hosting plan.
What do you charge for ongoing support?
It depends on the level of support you need. Hosting plans include monitoring, backups, and security updates. For regular content changes or development work, we offer a monthly retainer — prices start from £20 per month. Get in touch and we’ll put together something that fits.
Do you offer e-commerce websites?
Yes — we build online shops using WooCommerce (on WordPress) and bespoke solutions for more complex requirements. If you’re looking for a straightforward product catalogue with a payment gateway, WooCommerce is usually the right fit. For larger or more custom shops, we’ll talk through the options.
